Event Description
Join us for a special celebration commemorating the completion of the midway point of the Encyclopaedia Iranica, the landmark undertaking by its founding Editor, Dr. Ehsan Yarshater, to record and document the history, culture, and life of the Iranian peoples from prehistoric times to the present.
Dr. Yarshater will survey the remarkable work that has been accomplished to date on the Encyclopaedia, as well as the challenges that remain in completing this monumental endeavor intended to preserve the legacy of one of the oldest and most influential civilizations developed in the Middle East.
The event also features Rumi Mystical Poetry Recital by Dr. Iraj Anvar, with Traditional Persian Music by the Ava Ensemble, and a Special Performance by Renowned "ExperiMentalist" Gerard Senehi. A silent auction will be conducted to benefit Encyclopaedia Iranica.
